Rivets
Arnold mainly processes rivets made of metals.
Holes are usually drilled into the components to be joined during prefabrication, when the sheets are lasered and punched. Sometimes, however, they are also drilled manually with a drill at a later stage. The hole must have a slightly larger diameter than the rivet.
The rivet is pushed through the hole so that it protrudes. The riveting machine forms the set rivet head (setting head) into a fixed connection (closing head). The two components are thus securely joined together.
If you want to undo a rivet, you have to destroy it, for example by drilling it out. Riveting is therefore a conditionally detachable joining process.
