Prototype
In technology, a prototype is a functional but often simplified test model of a planned product or component for the respective purpose. It can correspond to the end product in terms of appearance or technology.
A prototype often serves as preparation for series production. However, it can also be planned as a single item that is only intended to illustrate a specific concept.
Prototypes are also used to approve individual product aspects such as surfaces, functions, materials and dimensions.
