FAI (First Article Inspection)
FAI stands for "First Article Inspection". The so-called first article inspection is carried out for components and finished products that are to be produced in series in the future.
The initial sample has already been produced under series conditions and therefore offers customers the ideal opportunity to inspect the quality of the ordered goods before series production begins. With the usually very comprehensive initial sample inspection, including documentation, the aim is to rule out errors for series production right from the start and to check agreed parameters.
Arnold carries out FAIs for customers in the transportation/rail technology sector in particular. Those responsible for quality assurance work very closely together. The framework conditions for the FAI are set out in the quality assurance agreement. Once the initial sample inspection has been completed, corrections and further inspections can be agreed or approval can be given for the series production process.
