DIN 6701

DIN 6701 is binding for manufacturers of rail vehicles or their components. In accordance with the standard, they must prove their qualification with a certificate. This ensures the quality of components in the transportation sector.

Certification in accordance with DIN 6701 is carried out by a body that has been approved by an accreditation body and appointed by the DIN 6701 Bonding Working Group, following a company audit with a technical discussion.

The following matters are ensured during the audit:

• Necessary qualification of the company
• Appointment of at least one responsible adhesive bonding supervisor
• Necessary qualification of the bonding supervisory personnel
• Qualification of the bonding personnel
• Existing design inspection
• Necessary work and test instructions

Certification in accordance with DIN 6701 for machines with integrated radiation protection, e.g. for medical technology, is also taken into account in the lead sector.
