Deburring
A burr is an unwanted piece of metal that adheres to the surface of the sheet, usually around the cut edges.
The deburring of metallic products can be carried out using various methods. In addition to abrasive belts, rotating brushes (scotch rollers) are also available as deburring tools. They can deburr areas that are difficult to access, such as deep pockets or cut-outs in the workpiece.
Arnold uses the following methods:
- Application of an abrasive belt (rough removal of irregularities, see picture variant 1)
- Use of a Scotch roller for brushing (slight edge rounding, see image variant 2)
- Use of the sanding belt and the Scotch roller (strong edge rounding possible, see image variant 3)
Whether steel, aluminum or stainless steel, everything can be deburred.
