Project

Chic railings for a shopping center

Project name: Limbecker Platz
Place: Essen
Architecture/Design: Anna-Carin Heidbreder, ECE Projektmanagement GmbH & Co. KG
Special features: Planning, delivery, and assembly of especially high-quality polished stainless steel railings, glass infill, and oak handrails.

Arnold supplied 1,380 m of stainless steel and glass railings, some of which are three dimensional in shape, for the interior of the ECE shopping center. The project team worked closely with interior designer Anna-Carin Heidbreder of ECE to create the custom railings to the high standards expected by the client. The railings consist of polished stainless steel posts with special glass infill which rests in polished stainless steel U-profiles and features sandblasted ornaments. The smoked oak handrail provides the final aesthetic touch.

Special solutions are all in a day’s work

One special feature was the creation of two high-precision plug-in railings with electromagnetic latching. These removable railings allow access to a lifting platform and can be dismantled at need by authorized personnel. The individual components had to be very precisely constructed to avoid either jamming or wobbling.

The project comprised the full package of planning, statics, manufacturing, delivery, and assembly.
