A.P. Rott's "Suncatcher" Successfully Passes Final Acceptance

Steinbach-Hallenberg, September 22, 2026: The installation of the monumental sculpture “Suncatcher” by artist A.P. Rott was successfully completed at the Steinbach-Hallenberg site.

Standing nearly nine meters tall and weighing approximately 2.2 metric tons, the work posed significant challenges in terms of planning and installation. Particular attention was paid to the “Sunbeam,” a cascade of stainless steel spheres with varying polishes that is more than five meters long and is integrated centrally into the sculpture. The “Suncatcher” is the result of A.P. Rott’s long-standing artistic exploration of the power and effect of sunsets. Through the Sunbeam, the sculpture captures the rays of the setting sun and reflects them off the polished stainless steel spheres. The work symbolizes vitality, dynamism, and motivation, as well as light, warmth, and hope.

Following a successful test installation, the project is now looking ahead to its next milestone: The final installation of the sculpture is scheduled for February at its future location in Canada.
