Monument to the "HK Lokomotive Yaroslavl" Ice Hockey Club
Yaroslavl, Russia

2013

In 2011, an unbelievable tragic accident happened: the entire team of the first division ice hockey club HK Lokomotive Yaroslavl (Russia) was killed in a tragic plane crash. It was a great honor for us to build the memorial for the victims.

The three Russian artists Vladimir Kaurov, Vladimir Demjanenko and Mikhail Beketov designed this huge 20-ton monument made of steel and stainless steel.

37 symbolized ice hockey sticks, one for each team member, are positioned on the support so that together they form the shape of a swooping eagle - a symbol of team achievement. Each stick has different dimensions. The largest is eleven meters long and weighs 600 kilograms. A heater is installed inside, controlled by a temperature and humidity sensor. This is to prevent icicles from forming on the rackets in the cold Yaroslavl.

A special challenge was the short period of time, because the inauguration took place exactly on the second anniversary at the stadium area "Arena 2000" of HK Lokomotive.

We are proud to have been part of this emotional project and thank the artists for their trust in us.
