In July 2021, the Qatar Museums Authority unveiled Tom Claassen's sculpture "Falcon" at Hamad International Airport in Doha. It represents the national bird of the country.

The project was challenging, but exciting. Over 300 days of production went into the 12-meter-high, 7.5-ton work of art made of steel, aluminum and stainless steel. Crafting the sheets into the right shape by hand, leaving no visible welding lines and applying the special gold paint were a real challenge. Also the transport in the belly of a special ship and the installation with 80-ton cranes was an adventure we carry in our hearts.
