"Eugène_01"
City Hall of the City of Ratingen (Germany)
Rainer Eisch
2020

For his wall sculpture "Eugène_01" the artist Rainer Eisch had eight "Catalan solids" made. Seven of them consist of highly polished stainless steel. One is made of copper and refers to the Chalcolithic (Copper Age). A special feature is the untreated matt surface that will change over time.

Depending on the daytime and the light situation in the foyer of the City Hall of Ratingen, where the sculpture is fixed to the wall at the staircase leading up to the Council Hall, a wide variety of reflections will appear in the facets of the individual solids.
