Ewerdt Hilgemann

With his exciting idea of extracting air from metallic hollow bodies, the German-Dutch artist Ewerdt Hilgemann creates unique works of art. He deforms cubes, pyramids and cuboids with a specially developed implosion technique. The original objects vary in size, type of metal and surface texture.

The slow implosion is a  fascinating process in which  the result remains uncertain until the end. We are happy to accompany Ewerdt Hilgemann in his creative process and to develop this impressive way of metalworking together with him.
