"Communication", Friedrichsdorf (Germany)
2016

In the 19th century, Philipp Reis, the inventor of the telephone, lived in Friedrichsdorf. Therefore, the city´s cultural foundation (Kulturstiftung) launched an art competition for a roundabout sculpture with this motto. The Frankfurt sculptor Ann Reder convinced the jury with her design. Two curved rectangles face each other. They are distant but yet close, just like in communication.

Arnold already supported the artist in the preparation of the application documents with regard to feasibility and the calculation of production costs.

The 2.50 metre high aluminium sculpture was created in 3 months. Sheets were laser-cut, rounded, welded and then painted. Arnold also assembled it on site, of course.
