Wilson's homage to Monheim
The installation "Yes There No Where" by Robert Wilson is located in Marienburgpark in Monheim am Rhein, North Rhine-Westphalia. It was unveiled in June 2023 as part of the second Monheim Triennial for Sound Art and has been permanently accessible ever since. The historic park creates a special connection between art and nature and enables a unique interplay between the artistic installation and the listed park that surrounds the Marienburg. In terms of content, the installation deals intensively with the town's coat of arms and the "Gänseliesel" depicted in it. The coat of arms, designed in 1791, shows a young woman with a twig and a finger in front of her lips, symbolically silencing a goose.

The Goosegirl in a new light
A life-size, white sculpture of a little girl attracts the attention of visitors to the park. With her eyes closed and a gentle smile, she seems to be listening intently. Her raised index finger invites visitors to focus on the distant sounds. She holds a quill pen in her other hand and reminds the people of Monheim of the “Gänseliesel” from the town's coat of arms. A white paved path leads from the figure to a light gray wooden house on the lawn. A larger-than-life, lifelike goose can be seen through a round opening at the front, taking up almost the entire interior space and appearing to look directly at the viewer. The opening is positioned so that children can look in comfortably, while adults have to bend down slightly.

How craftsmanship, music and poetry create an immersive world
Wilson combined sculptural and architectural materials with modern light installations and sound technology to create the synaesthetic experience that characterizes his style. All elements of the installation were initially constructed using simple materials such as wood and cardboard as prototypes, based on theater production techniques. The designs were later refined and Arnold AG developed technical solutions in metal for the three sound wells:
- The "Gold well" is clad in gold-coated stainless steel panels with a wave-like structure.
- The "Crystal well" has prisms made of polished stainless steel on the inside.
- The "Cloud well" consists of a metal dome decorated with paintings by Rinaldo Rinaldi.
